Don Guillette has dedicated more than three decades to the Fire/EMS and EMS Instruction field, including 23 years as Director of EMS, seven years as an adjunct instructor at Polk State College, and more than 20 years with the City of Orlando Fire Department. In addition to the publication of his book, Capnography, “More Than Just Numbers,” which serves as a valuable resource for healthcare professionals, Don also travels the country, serving as a Core Instructor for the University of Miami Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education.
After completing his EMT and paramedic certifications, Don went on to earn his degrees in Emergency Medical Service (AS-EMS) and Fire Science (AS-FS), as well as attaining his RN (ASN) nursing degree in 2007. His vast knowledge and expertise, Don has been recognized through numerous awards, including being named Firefighter of the Year for Lake Alfred Fire Department, receiving First Place awards at the Orange County Advanced Cardiac Life Support Competition, and being awarded the Polk Community College (Currently Polk State College) Endowed Teaching Chair. Don was also named the University of Miami Instructor of the Year, University of Miami “Above and Beyond Award” recipient, and received the University of Miami Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education “Distinguished Contributor Award.”
